How can I do this with a language that does not have built in functions like NMaximize

Hmmm, that would be difficult. You might try a crawler that tries a steepest descent on it.

A steepest descent algorithm. It is used to locate maxima and minima. It is slow but reliable.

There are good and bad people everywhere. Also, it is pretty much a personal viewpoint. In this case me and the main man did not see eye to eye. This I found suspicious. Why should someone with a lot more posts and power zero in on me? I am no threat to him, can not possibly catch up to him in posts or position...
