Math Final

I am studying for my Math final and i have trouble with this one type of problem. For Instance

The trick is to give them the same denominator.

How can you turn (w-2) into (w²+w-6) ?

By guesswork I figured that you could multiply by (w+3):

(w-2)(w+3) = w²+3w-2w-6=w²+w-6

So, multiply top and bottom of the first term by (w+3), then combine the terms and simplify
