Hi everyone,
I came across a word problem that I would like to get assistance with. Here is the word problem:
A brownie recipe asks for two and one quarter times as much sugar as chocolate chips. If two and five eighths cups of sugar is used, what quantity of chocolate chips would then be needed, according to the recipe?
Important: I do not want to know the answer to this word problem, I would simply like to know a formula or two to get started with.
Thank you in advance for any assistance, I really appreciate it!

The information at the beginning says that we have to use 2.25 as much sugar as chololate chips. This means that if you know how much sugar is used, you have to divide by 2.25 in order to know the amount of chocolate chips needed. This also means that if you know the amount of chocolate chips used, you have to multiply by 2.25 in order to know how much sugar has been/should be used.
