Digit Apartment Help
Nicole owns an apartment building with 29 units. She is playing new numbers on the doors. How many digits will she need to buy if she starts with one and skips thirteen?
I think the answer is 47, but the answer is 49!
Please show your work! Thank you!

Ans: 49.
1 to 9= 9 digits
11 to 19= 9+9 = 18 digits (excluding 13)
20 to 30= 11+11=22 digits
Total = 9+18+22=49.

Ans: 49.
1 to 9= 9 digits

Total = 9+18+22=49.
You have excluded 10 not 13.

Quick calculation is 29*2-9=49. Is the 13th apartment without any number on it? Then it is 47.
