Hi;
These look like problems from Brilliant, are they? If they are I can not answer them for you and I will not allow any other answers either. The forum can get into trouble for answering questions like that and that means trouble for me too. I am a member there too.
I want your word that these are not from there or a contest problem in general.
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

I'm not sure what Brilliant is. These problems are from an online math class I take.

That is also a problem, many online math classes do not like their students getting help on their problems. Your is okay with that?

In (2) have you written nth term correctly?
Also the sum of first 3 terms is >1.The close form is under cloud.

Your next post to the OP after the one above makes no sense. You can't just take the word of a user whose own interest is to get answers on something
without disclosing proof of A) where these problems are really from and B) whether there is documented permission from a third source to use the problems.
The OP's reply "They do not mind" gives you zero assurance, and you could still be in trouble for discussing the answers. Why would you entertain trusting
a user's word on likely sensitive material!?

I have had this question many times. So many, that I have a canned response to it.
I did this for several reasons.
First, I am not going to change anyone's attitudes towards cheating. I can not rehabilitate him/her. I am not and do not wish to be a police officer.
Second, I thought that working the problems would be useful to someone else who might be interested enough to say, hey, how did you get that?
Third, I need the practice too just like anyone else. I use a lot of cutting edge ( for me ) ideas on all problems. I do this for the practice, to learn something, I post the answer for feedback.
And lastly, I love math, I love to do it. I want to give something back. It is my job to help when I can. Call it a mitzvah if you will.
I have asked the OP. I have no choice but to believe him until such time when we can drag him into a small room, tie him to a chair and shoot him full of a massive dose of sodium pentothal. I have already deleted whole threads of material that was found to be "sensitive material." I did that with a heavy heart. The burden is on me when to allow a question and when to not, I do the best job I can on each one. It is an ugly task.
