If we have a rectangular area with two of it opposite sides as 130ft each and other two opposite sides as 100 ft and 85 ft. And we have to divide this area into three equal parts what will be the dimensions of each of the areas ?

Hi Mathforum,
Welcome to the forum. I assume that you mean a volume rather than an area (if not, please let me know). Since you want it divided into three equal parts, then it suffices to keep two dimensions the same and divide the remaining dimension by three -- for instance, any of these could work:and moreover there are infinitely many such possibilities.
Let me know if I've misunderstood the problem.

I meant an area; it's actually a piece of land.
Want to deduct all the four sides of all the three pieces of land obtained after an equal division...
