Including a 8% sales tax, an inn charges $189 per night. Find the inn's nightly cost before the tax is added.
I don't get it can some explaine to me please
thanks in advance
hi Andrew,
I suggest making an equation from the information. Call the thing you ant to find x.
So the inn charges $x and then adds 8/100 times x as tax so you end up with x + 0.08x = 1.08x. We know that makes 189 so the equation is:
1.08x = 189. => x = 189/1.08
Hope that helps,
Bob
