how do you work this out, school homework for son....

10-5x3+7=

i know it will be easy for you
but whats the way to do it
my son says bombas without the brackets
im lost thought the answer was 22.....

he says no its 2.....
please help

It is indeed 2. You have to multiply before you add or subtract.

Bombas? Bomdas maybe. Brackets, Orders, Multiply and Divide, Add and Subtract. See Order of Operations - BODMAS

Remember that 10 - 5 x 3 + 7 = 10 - (5 x 3) + 7 = 2.

Putting brackets in makes it easier.
