Also, you can't change your guess. Otherwise you could just keep changing it until you got it right.

Well, that's the way it is. You can only guess once. If you guess correctly, you win, and if you guess incorrectly, you automatically die.

Guessing wrongly doesn't kill you, it just makes you unable to guess again. The murderer is allowed to make one guess as well to try to blend in.

You didn't capitalize "I" Anyway, you're not dead untill you get a PM, that says you have been killed. When you have gotten the message, you have to write a story about how you died.

But if you've already guessed and are wrong, what's the point in being alive. It renders you a sitting duck.

It does indeed. But if you died the moment you guessed incorrectly, it would mean that the murderer couldn't guess. And then everyone would just guess the person who isn't guessing. If that makes sense.
