Graph Transformation

Plot (-4, -2) and connect with a straight line to point (-2, -2).

Afterward, connect (-2, -2) with a straight line to point (2, 2).

Finally, connect (2, 2) with a straight line to point (4, -2).

After connecting all the points as instructed, the graph of a function will appear on the xy-plane. Use the graph of f as the first step toward graphing each of the following functions:

A. H(x) = f(x + 1) - 2

B. Q(x) = (1/2)f(x)

To graph H(x) = f(x + 1) - 2, I must move each point of the original function 1 point to the left and then shift the graph 2 units down on the y-axis.

To graph Q(x) = (1/2)f(x), I must multiply each y-coordinate of the original function by 1/2 and compress the new function vertically.

I thank you for your dedication to my questions. I don't understand the lack of participation in this group. It doesn't seem right for one person to respond to questions from different members (mainly my questions). I want to see more people involved in math discussions here.
