Bob,
Please, download Precalculus by Michael Sullivan Edition 10 to help us be on the same page. Remember, I am going to do both textbooks SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Problem 29; page 7.
Find the distance d(P_1, P_2) between the points P_1 and P_2.
P_1 = (a, b); P_2 = (0, 0)
I will let d = distance between the two points.
d = sqrt{(0 - a)^2 + (0 - b)^2}
d = sqrt{(-a)^2 + (-b)^2}
d = sqrt{a^2 + b^2}

This is also very simple math. It is one of my favorite activities to do----finding the distance between two points.
Note:
I will only solve highlighted ODD PROBLEMS. There is no need to daily bother you by asking YOU SAY? This is annoying. Odd number answers are listed in the back of all textbooks.
