First Luca was just expanding out the brackets.
The first term has two √3's multiplied by each other, which just makes 3. This is also multiplied by 2, so the whole first term is 6.
The next 2 terms can be combined into (-10+1)√3, which is just -9√3.
And after you've manipulated the first term into 6, you can add the -5 to that to get 1.
And so then your final answer is 1 - 9√3.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
