Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge of methods to statistically solve a multivariate equation? For example, if I have:
2x + 3y = 15
and I know that x and y are real numbers, and I have both x and y's mean and standard deviation, is there a method to determine the most likely solution to this equation?
I appreciate any help.

Do you want a single most likely value? Or do you want a most likely value with error values on x and y? Cause the first one is waaay easier.

It would be best if I could have the error on each variable, but I'm interested in any help you might be able to provide.
Thanks.
