A - B

If     _        _                    _     _
A = |  2   0  |             B = |  2  5  |
       |  2   2  |   , and        |  2  2  |  , find A - B

i did :

A = (2 * 0 ) - (2 * 2) = 0 - 4 = -4

B = ( 2* 2 ) - ( 2* 5 ) = 4 - 10 = -6

A - B
-4 - (-6)  = 2 right?

ok if that is right now can i ask something what does this mean in teh problem _  when its on top of the problem or on top of the number?

but like is said

_      _  _    _
| 2 2  |  | 2 5  |
|  2 0 |  | 2 2  |

you see that there is a line on the five and there are lines liek this _ in teh problem what do they mean? nothing?

Re: A - B

and i think the way you did it is has to be

2 2
2 0
not
2 0
2 2
so the answer would come out to
0  -3
0  -2

right?

Re: A - B

Matrix subtraction is actually so simple it is hard to believe.

Like luca said, just subtract matching entries. And you get:

0  -5
0   0
