Puzzles - Aren't they Great! BLAH

If you take the next two numbers in this sequence and multiply them together, what number will you get?

594, 487, 566, 493, 310, 447, ____, ____

What is the answer?

A little help please and THANK YOU!!!

Wow, that's a coincidence.

He's just happened to put up the current Lenny conundrum again.

What are the odds?

Well, I have no idea, since there is no noticeable pattern:/( which is unbelievable because no sequence has an unnoticeable patern)

I couldn't figure it out, so I asked for help. I'm pretty sure you're some middle school person who asks your teacher for help on these. Why not ask for help on here??? I'm not in math anymore, so what better place to ask for help?

Guess you didn't think to come here and ask for help did you?

Re: Puzzles - Aren't they Great! BLAH

Doesn't matter. A puzzle is a puzzle.

And this one is tough.

I have tried fibonacci, primes (only 487 is prime), powers, multiplication, and they all have random results.

I am thinking either
a) you can never guess the two numbers but you can guess their product, or
b) it needs to be decoded somehow (words, letters or something)

That was terrible. That shouldn't even classify as wit.

Boy let me tell you what:
I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.

You're right, I'm sorry.

Anyway, as MathsIsFun has already tried everything I can think of, I'm guessing that the answer has some obscure Neopets connection type thing, meaning that unless we want to spend ages on the website, we should give up on it.

Let's know what the solution is when it arrives.

If anyone's interested, the published answer was 337146, but it didn't tell you the two numbers or how they got to them.

Prime factor analysis shows that 337146=2x3x83x677, which we can use to speculate as to what the two numbers might be.

I'm guessing 498 and 677, but I still don't have a clue why.

Re: Puzzles - Aren't they Great! BLAH

Thanks, mathsyperson. At least they are even and odd roll

Seems way too high to be any mathematical pattern. Well, any reasonably logical pattern, because you could construct something to fit if you needed to.

Thet reminds me of someone who developed a formula that was able to come up with the name of every US President. Give it a President No and it would spit out a number which could be turned into the correct Presidents Name (I don't remember how, but it apparently worked). But when asked to predict the next President's name it responded with Zxyftys Ljqahdyd.
