I'm assuming you mean you want it to say "Member" under your name where it currently says "Novice"?
Those are just forum ranks and don't really mean anything special. You'll become a member when you make 5 posts, if I recall correctly. However, there's a bit of code somewhere that makes the forum only count posts that are 100 characters long or more. So you'll need to make 5 of that kind of post. Don't worry though, 100 characters is a limit low enough so that practically all posts count anyway. This one contains more than 5 times that, even though it's just a small paragraph.

Can't find it, it's probably a variable contained in another file.

And yes, Mathsyperson is correct, you have to make a post with more than 100 characters in it to be counted.
