What is a point...

Ok, for my geometry class, we need to define the word point. He're what I've come up with:

1. a dot
2. an exact location
3. a coordinate
4. a node

Does anyone have any other definitions? It would help a lot!

Re: What is a point...

According to Euclid, a point is “that which has no part”. That’s actually Euclid’s definition of a point. Do you get his point? tongue

Re: What is a point...

Thanks you guys. I got the def. though. It's something like, a specific spot in the universe that has no size or shape. It's one of those undefined terms... they confuse me.

Re: What is a point...

Except it does not have to be in the Universe ... it could be in some imaginary thing you are working on.

It is just a location, nothing else.

Re: What is a point...

thats why store locators are completely worthless. they fail to specify which universe.

Re: What is a point...

My professor once told me that a point is a circle with the radius zero.
