a(b/c) = ab / ac?
"In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..."

Hmm. Ehhe! That's great. However, I think as a general rule the answer would be no. However, I believe multiplication is distributive over addition:
a · (b + c) = (a · b) + (a · c)
a + (b · c) = (a + b) · (a + c)

Yes, multiplication is distributive over addition. But addition is not distributive over multiplication! What are thinking of?
