Taking a 1 out of the fraction on the left looks like it would help.

From there, solve the quadratic equation twice (first with 2 on the right and then with -2).
If you're working in the reals, I think you only get one solution.

first simplify this expression



by usining division by -1 you will find f(x) = 0
thats means -1 is the first zero

you will get


divide by -1 again

and you can complete the answer

I think I prefer mathsyperson's method, it's shorter and doesn't require you to guess a root tongue

The roots from mathsyperson's quadratic are -1 and -1 ± 2i, which are the same as yours saudi_boy.
