i am trying to figure out the difference between tables, graphs, and equations of quadratic functions vs. linear and exponentiial functions. I know what the difference is, but I'm not sure how to put it into words. any help?

parabolic:
as x goes up by one, the y goes up the square table.
to get from one square to the next, add x + (x+1).
Like for 3(3)=9, add 3 and 4 to 9, and get 4(4).
Add 4 and 5 to 16 to get 25. Add 5 and 6 to 25
to get 36.
exponential.
As x goes up by 1, then multiply the y by a factor that
never changes. Like take the number 2.
1 duble is 2 duble is 4 duble is 8 duble is 16, so just multiply
by some number for evenly spaced x's.
Linear:
For diagonal lines, as x goes up by some amount, then
y goes up/down by some amount. The two amounts
can form a fraction and is the slope of the line.

thank you soooooo much. You have been very helpful.:) And if anyone else has anything they would like to add about quadratic functions/relationships, feel free to add. I still do not fully understand, and I will be learning about this for another 3 weeks. thanks again!

quadratic is parabolic like y = xx
quadratic is the weirdest in my opinion
because to get from one position to
another is kind of tricky.
A. x 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
B. y 1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 81
C. B-A 0 2 6 12 20 30 42 56 72
D. C2-C1 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16
E. B2-B1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17

hmmm......i see. yeah, Our teacher told us it increases the same way it decreases and it has something...idk-but its weird!
