I don't think there is any need for rudeness, this person requires help there's no need for put downs

Sorry.
But having two threads having identical first posts and different sets of replies is just confusing.

so you can prove the base step is true for n=1 by
for the induction step if you let N=m+n
i think that may be right any other suggestions???

Generally double-posting is frowned upon because then helpers need to waste time reiterating what was said in the first post.

There should be a rule to ban people like EMPhillips1989 for wasting helpers precious time on the forum.

Ban people for making a mistake? That's ridiculous. And look Jane, now you're wasting my time making me respond to you...

I do NOT think it is a mistake. I think EMPhillips1989 DELIBERATELY double posted! Check his two posts. They are identical, character for character! It could only have been a copy & paste job EMPhillips1989 deliberately copied his old post and pasted it to start an unnecessary new thread!
Mistakes are understandable and easily forgiven. BUT DELIBERATE DOUBLE POSTING SHOULD BE A BANNABLE OFFENCE!

I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you why that is overkill. Especially when you are being particularly rude and typing in all caps. It's not a ban-able offence, especially when someone has been a member here for a while.

It looks like the other thread has been deleted for redundancy so Ill not go on about this any further. I hope EMPhillips1989 has been warned not to do it again in future.
