Re: Music; what's your song?

Well,
I  like lots of different kinds of music but, my favorite kind is probally hip-hop or rap. I love Shakira, and Nelly Furtado. They are so good and there songs have a good rhythm, and shakira and nelly f. both indorce the different kinds of cultures they put in there music. Like Shakira sometimes she raps and then sometimes she sings mexican type of music, and nelly does the same thing.

Re: Music; what's your song?

Greendaygirl, I read most of your list. I'm torn between praising you on your choice in music and sighing at the other choices. You've got a nice selection there, a broad choice, but you've got some really emotastic music there. No offense to you; some of the music they play is pretty good... Hey, it's your choice.

However, I raised a brow at how you put (I like Metal once in a while) only after Metalica, after listing off quite a few other metal bands, like Nirvana (Grunge Metal), Black Sabbath (Heavy Metal) and even Korn (who I beleive were Nu Metal).

My interests still lie in good old Rock, Blues, Ska, Punk and Metal, with a bit of Fun Music...

Things like Dragonforce, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody and Europe (All Power Metal, by the way). Lordi, Sabbath and Children of Bodom (Heavy Metal). Heck, even the ol' Judas Priest.

But, y'know, there's also the fun things like Lemon Demon, Scatman John, Richard Cheese and even the great Weird Al Yankovich.

Re: Music; what's your song?

ACK! Big bump! But an interesting one nonetheless.

I will add Pachelbel to my list. He is one of the world's greatest composers living during the 1600s, and his Canon in D was the proof of his greatness.

Re: Music; what's your song?

It's Post 'n' Bump and I helped!

The Who, U2 (stuff from 10+ years ago...), Green Day,  Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Fogerty, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Don McLean, REM, Queen, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin.

My tastes are generally older than I am. Please excuse me while I cringe at the sheer onslaught of songs in the past 10 years that either involve some guy's sexual exploits or some teenage girl desperately trying to be strong and/or sexy. Can we get back to the songs with some kind of meaningful message now? And can singers stop labeling themselves as "R&B" if there's clearly no Blues in their songs? [/rant]

I like classical music, too. I truly respect the masters who could tell a story with an orchestra and without words. My favorite composer is Tchaikovsky, but my favorite piece is Beethoven's Fur Elise.

Rhythm and Bass is not Rhythm and Blues.

Re: Music; what's your song?

Not Rhythm and Bass. That's what it says on the tin (normally). I mean "contemporary R&B".

Re: Music; what's your song?

Surprisingly, I love country and "old" songs:
"Take Me Home Country Roads" is currently topping my list, followed by:
"I Have To Say I Love You In A Song"
"Mandy"
"Blowing In The Wind"
"Upside Down"

And, more surprisingly, I like:

"Teenagers" and
"Beautiful Girls" (if only for the rhythm and music, not lyrics)

JohnnyReinB wrote:

Good ol' Bob Zimmerman. Goes by the name Bob Dylan apparently because he liked the works of Dylan Thomas.

On the subject of Country, how about Charlie Daniels?

Oh, you only know Charlie Daniel's Band because of Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Probably from Guitar Hero 3.

Re: Music; what's your song?

If I'm honest, that is partially true. Devil Went Down to Georgia was the reason I bought Million Mile Reflections and bothered to listen to them in the first place.

I haven't played Guitar Hero, and I'm confused as to why it's on it, actually. It must be too far-fetched to get a mainstream audience to play Fiddle Hero, huh? Given the choice, I'd rather mimic a windmill than a left-hand Suzuki method.

Hmm. I most probably like rock the best out of the genres. My favorite band at the moment would have to be Breaking Benjamin. I really like the song Unkown Soldier by Breaking Benjamin.

Woot some ska fans. There are a lot of really good local ska bands where I live. I uploaded some on imeem (a music post webhost).  If you like ska check this out "http://profile.imeem.com/1WX_KP/music/7q1pHhU8/life_in_the_mafia_i_need_you/" It's worth signing up for, listen and tell me what you think. By the way this is some kids from my old neighborhood XD

I think, if I had a theme song or a song devoted to me, it would be 'The journey continues' by Mark Brown. =]
