i know this may sound a little stupid, but if anybody could help me by giving formulas for the volume and surface area of a rectangular based pyramid it would be greatly appreciated.
The general formula for the volume of a pyramid is:
where b is base and h is height.
In the case of rectangular pyramids, the base is equal to the length multiplied by width.
The surface area for the rectangular pyramid is:
where l is length, w is width, and s is the, umm, height of the triangle?

Formula for what? The volume? The area?
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
