You've got to forgive me, this is probably extremely easy for you all, but my mind has went completely blank. Could anyone solve the following equation, then try to explain to me how they done it? I'm only twelve, so if you would be so kind as to kind of dumb it down a little?
Here is the equation:-
Find 'x'
1-2(2x+1) = 1-(x-1)
Thank you very much
1-2(2x+1)=1-(x-1)
1-(2*2x+2*1)=1-x+1
1-(4x+2)=(1+1)-x
1-4x-2=2-x
(1-2)-4x=2-x
-1-4x=2-x
(-1-2)=(4x-x)
-3=3x
x=-1
