Even or Odd function?

i have the following function:

Does anyone know whether this function is even or odd?
i assumed it was odd, but does this depend on the value of k?

... this makes no sense to me; is the definition of an even, odd function not:

even if f(x) = f(-x)
odd if f(x) = -f(-x)

but in your case x can only be negative, so f(-x) is not defined...
