Welcome! I just find it nice to believe that this forum is global!
Well, I assure you you'll have a nice time here, as I have in all my stay!
Well, good luck in whatever you're doing and strive hard. We hope that this forum will be a great help to you if you ever have math problems! (Though I cannot personally help you with high level math/s [I'm only up to Elementary Algebra in formal Learning, after all], I'm sure that the good guys in here will show you how it's done!)
It means, that the parents are getting older, and that they were much younger when the last letter was sent. Now their older and less impressionable!
And lightning's joke makes no sense!

If down to three, I'd say Origami, Ambigrams, and Brainteasers.
For those who'd like to know but don't, an ambigram is a word that can be read...
normally and when rotated 180°(rotational)
normally and when reversed(like looking at it in a mirror)
normally and the spaces
As a sort of wheel that can be read at the top and bottom, too
And lots more. For more info, type 'Ambigram' in wikipedia.
As a reply to JustLooking and Mathsys, your words are actually all longest in their respect.
Antidisestablishmentarianism is the longest non-coined non-technical word
Floccinaucinihilipilification is the longest non-technical coined word
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (my favorite) is the longest technical word to be placed in a dictionary(Merriam Websters).
However, the longest technical word ever actually has aproximately 190 000 letters (189,819 to be exact). The only thing I came up on about it is Methionylthreonylthreonyl...isoleucine (mind the ellipsis)
For the wacky words, I'd recommend the four of Dumbledore:
Nitwit
Blubber
Oddment
Tweak
(though not random, they are weird!)
Well, no need to repeat everything. Mathsys is right!
Quoting Blank_Brunette, Wow!
I read somewhere that a farmer had a chicken whose head got cut off in an accident, but he fed it with a dropper and managed to keep it alive for 2 years.
Sorry if I'm out of topic, but I remember that this chicken only died because the farmer left the eye dropper (for feeding) when they were touring the country (being headless and all, the chicken became famous)
The chicken, in fact, was supposed to be their dinner when the farmer's mother-in-law visited. the neck being her favorite, he proceeded to cut the head as close as possible, resulting in not cutting of the lower part of the brain stem, which kept the chicken alive.
Seeing that the chicken was still running around, the farmer decided to feed it like a normal chicken, and poof! A headless chicken that went on to become famous!

Okay, I thought of another one... Gud luck!
hey MathIsFun did you earn the Adminisstrator? or do you have to be a certain age
Mathsisfun is the one who created this forum, that's why he's the administrator.
Sorry, made it unclear. Paraphrased, it says: Why did the chicken cross the road, jumped in a puddle of mud, and crossed the road again?
How about this one (or more):
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To show the roadkill that it can be done!
Q: Why did the Triceratops cross the road?
A: Because the chicken did not exist yet!
Q: Why did the Triceratops not cross the road?
A: Because roads weren't invented yet!
Q: Why did the Triceratops cross the road?
A: With those horns? For any reason he wants!
(This doesn't count as an animal joke)
Q: Why did the toddler cross the road?
A: To get to the other slide!
what do you mean? i dont see it!
Hello, coconut. What Dan means is that in the main forum page (the page you get when you type www.mathisfunforum.com into the address bar), there is a bar that is second to the last from the bottom that shows who is online. Currently, I'm the only one here (but of course, that will change
)
In Mathisfunforum, there are times when you are the only one online, so you can't expect a reply too soon.
