Hi magosalim;
For 1)
For 2) Please give that a try on your own. This one you should know.
For 3)
If I tell you:
Can you now complete the problem? Please give it a try. Post what you get.

Hi bobbym,
Thank you so much for the answer of the first problem. I have to figure out how you got the answer. I did the old fashion way of getting the answer by doing the smiley face system. The answer came out the same with your answer!
The 2nd problem, I am having trouble with...
Since the problem is not in open -20a and close parenthesis with an exponent of 8, why would you put the -20a inside the parenthesis with the exponent of 8? Should the 8 only have power over the a? and not the whole thing? I know the Degree is: 8
How do I arrange it in descending-exponent form since you only have one term?

Hi;
I would assume that they want you to put the answer to 1) in descending exponent form.
-20a, a has an exponent of 8
You are correct the question is badly worded. But I think they want the parentheses around the -20a, like this (-20a)^8. To be on the safe side why not do it both ways?
