Re: Review

Correct a mundo as Fonzie would say.

Have you been shown a simple way to check these. It is not 100% foolproof but it usually finds a wrong one very quickly.

Also I have cleaned up your latex. Use \div when you want ÷.

Re: Review

Just substitute some numbers for x and y. Do a couple of them and the answers should always be the same on both sides. This is not foolproof but will usually find a bad simplification.

I chose x = 10 and y = 5

Check!

Re: Review

Hi;

Did you try checking that on your own as I showed you? Your answer is correct but supposing for the sake of the discussion I said it was wrong?
It is important to have confidence in your own work. I mean confidence because you know it is right.

Do not get me wrong I will check your work as long as you want. But in case you are by yourself...

Re: Review

17-4x=60

17 + -17 + -4x = 60 + -17

-4x = 60 + -17

-4x = 43

Divide by -4

x=-43/4

Yes, that is right. You can surround each of those statements
with math tags to make them latex.

Re: Review

i also did 15 hope its correct

#15-

x+5-3(x-1)=x

x+5-3x+3=x

8+x+-3x=x

8+-2x=x

8+-2x+-1x=x+-1x

-2x+-1x=-3x

8+-3x=x+-1x

8+-3x=0

-3x=-8

x=8/3
