Well,in the first one we can easily apply a hand method,but in the second one it is not as easy,so a computer would be a nice companion on the second one.

Really, you have so much free time then. If you were working in some installations you would be terminated for doing that by hand. Also it highly unlikely that you would get the correct answer.

You are avoiding the answer. You can not get them by hand. You would go to mathematica, maple, sage, mupad, maxima, derive, axiom, wolfram, lisp etc for the answer. You would also trust the answer. You would not demand to see a proof, no one would.

I am not. E.g. It would be silly to ask for that square root if all you want is to know its square.

But,if I would really have to calculate the sqrt to 1000 I would go to a computer.

It became clear that school math problems are formulated to be easy to compute with pencil and paper and illustrate a supposed mathematical truth. They are like a story with a moral to it.

A problem that occurs in the real world has none of the above characteristics. It is most likely difficult or impossible to compute with pencil and paper. It does not illustrate the chapter heading.
