4x + 11 < 6x - 3
4x - 6x + 11 < - 6x - 6x - 3
2x + 11 -11 < -3 - 11
2x < - 8
-2x/-2 < -8/-2 = x < 4
and check it
4(4) + 11 < 6(4) - 3
16 + 11 < 24 - 3
27 < 27

Ok, if you had to change 4x+11=6x-3 into a linear inequality how would you do it, and how would you solve it?

In line 2) 4x - 6x = -2x
In your line 3) -3 - 11 = -14
Here is how to do it.
4x + 11 < 6x - 3
Take 4x away from both sides.
11 < 2x - 3
Add 3 to both sides.
14 < 2x
Divide both sides by 2.
7 < x
Or
x > 7
