but I thought the answer would be :-
q = 1/k * p^(1/3)
k is the constant
in book manual solution from where he got the "8" number?

Because it's inverse proportion the term with p must be at the bottom of a fraction.
As k is just a number, writing 1/k doesn't satisfy the question. It's the p term that has to be at the bottom of the fraction.
I've no idea where 8 comes from. To change k into a number you have to be told one pair of q and p values.
